Do You See A Problem Here?

I believe that the world needs more who are strong enough to be silent when there is already too much noise, brave enough to slow down as the world speeds up, and aware enough to examine their own resistance to these ideas.

How contradictory this is to most of our lives (including my own).

We talk, talk, talk.  Because so many others are talking, we talk louder to be heard.  Of course, others do the same...and soon, we are all yelling at one another.

We learn efficiency and commend multi-tasking.  Being "too busy" is a sign of success; having time to sit around on the couch, a sign of luxury or laziness.

Amidst all of this, we talk even more.  We move faster, do faster, even rest faster.

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable with this?
