1999
It’s been awhile since I’ve shared thoughts with you here.
Like reconnecting with a friend who you’ve not seen in years, this might be a bit awkward at first. But I’m hoping we quickly fall back into our old routine of inspiring one another, laughing together, and feeling just as excited about our time together as we were when we first met.
Because we connected with our shared interest in making the most of this day. We want to practice well-being, one breath at a time, with no judgments about where we are on this ever-changing journey. We both just want to feel “good” in this mundane day….and darn it, we need one another to help make it happen.

No time to waste - I’m here to celebrate. I’m asking you to join me.
Now, there are a lot of things to celebrate. That we both woke up today, we have the technology in front of us to connect in this way, we had (hopefully) food and clean water available, that another episode of Loki came out last night, …. life is good.
But I’m here to celebrate something in particular, and it has a theme song: Prince’s “1999”. (Let that one be stuck in your head today and no shame if you want to sing along.)
Today is walk # 1,999 of #Walk365ish.
For those new to Being Breath, #Walk365ish is an unintentionally-started practice, one began over 5 years ago, of walking every single day for at least 30 minutes. (As of around a year and a half ago, it’s now at least 45 minutes, or around 3.7 miles each day.)
Rain, snow, airports, in heels, on the beach, in deserts, in our mall, startled by dogs, deer, skunks, bears - it’s been an adventurous journey.
Today’s 1,999th walk was an early morning one around our neighborhood, lit by a beautiful sunrise. Nothing out-of-the-ordinary happened, which is pretty darn cool. Because when you pause to look within it, the ordinary is freaking magical.

My quick ask of you: In the next 48 hours, TAKE A WALK.
I don’t care how long it is, where you walk, how you walk, with whom, in what outfit, in what weather….just get outside (or in the mall or on a treadmill) and WALK.
Then post a selfie on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #WALK365ISH and let me know how it went!

There’s so much more to catch up on, so let’s do this again soon - ok?
Body awareness and movement (physical therapy has been reawakening a lot of reminders about how connected everything is), meditation (I’ve recommitted and am remembering just how awesome and NOISY my mind is), drinking (cutting back on or refraining from alcohol? I’ve recently partnered with an awesome company…), and GAH, so much more.
Let’s keep reminding each other how awesome it feels to be well (and how okay it is to not feel well).
