Play With Your Food
My daughter and her frightening cheese cube
We've grown up learning what is right and what is wrong.
We don't take a lot of time to question those things.
But what if...
Start small. Most of us have learned that it is wrong to play with your food. (Taught by well-meaning adults who really wanted to make it through a meal in less than 2 hours.)
So many of us, though, now rush through meals. We do the opposite of playing with our food - we completely ignore it. We shovel it in, meal after meal, thinking more about what is coming next then what is nourishing our body.
Today, I invite you to play.
Pay attention to what is in front of you. Get as creative as you feel you can in playing with your food. Decorate it, rearrange it, bring it to your mouth, chew it differently than you usually do. See it, smell it, taste it.
Enjoy.
